John T. Wilder Collection

Letters and documents to or from John T. Wilder during the Civil War. Wilder (1830-1917) was a foundry owner from Greensburg, Indiana, who served as Colonel of the 17th Indiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. After the war he moved to Chattanooga and became a local politician and a leading industrialist in the South, opening many foundries and mills throughout Tennessee and North Carolina.
